The Sharks 07 team started as a U9 competitive team, with 100% of the players coming from the Santa Cruz City Youth Soccer Club recreational program.  As the number of players on the field has increased throughout the years, we have added a few players.  We are truly a grassroots team and expect to stay the same as we head to the Far West Regional Championships in Boise, Idaho.  Throughout the years we have been competitive in league and tournaments, but this past year the team has really meshed together: in the Fall we took second in our League, then we won the State Cup for northern California, and most recently in the Spring we took first place in League.  The main focus of our team all of these years has been the development of the players, and now we feel confident about competing at the next level.
